Unemployment and underemployment is also a big problem in Tanzania. 800,000 young men and women enter the labour market every year. Due to the lack of paid jobs, most of them enter the labour market through self-employment and thus earn their living more or less poorly with casual jobs.

The Tuwapende Watoto Foundation makes an important contribution to the positive development of young adults in the field of dual vocational training. We help students who are unable to attend training for financial reasons. We promote manual skills, train technical understanding and also teach general knowledge. With the technical know-how imparted and the extended general education, we significantly improve their chances on the labour market and enable them to start an independent life.
