Volunteering - an important contribution
Our children look forward to every volunteer who gives them affection and attention.
Our NGO Tuwapende Watoto in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, offers volunteer opportunities. Our volunteers are a constituent part in the care and education of our orphans. The duration of the voluntary placement at our orphanage should be at least between one and a maximum of three months. The applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Professional prerequisits
For us it is very important that you like children and are willing to give them love. Specific requirements for working in our children’s home are not required, any interested person may apply. You should have knowledge in English, be flexible, adaptable, be able to integrate easily, be communicative and show willingness to be active during the entire duration of your stay.
The main tasks of the volunteer staff are:
- Pay attention and to give affection
- Assist and aid the younger children eating
- Assist the older children with their homework
- Plan and organize recreational activities
- Help with housework chores and daily activities
