Our children in the Tuwapende Watoto children's home

Tuwapende Watoto provides a loving home for orphaned and abandoned children. Our aim is to provide these children not only with a safe and caring home, but also with a quality education to secure their sustainable and long-term future. We focus on the holistic development of each child and firmly believe that love and education are the cornerstones of a successful future.

Nevius Wilbroad Binamungu — Nevius Wilbroad Binamungu

Nevius was born on May 8, 1997 in Dar es Salaam and has been living in the children’s home since November 2011. He successfully completed his Master’s degree at the Institute of Finance and Management at the University of Dar es Salaam. He is currently employed by the company “Dexter Insurance” in Dar es Salaam. Having completed his training, Nevius can now lead an independent life.

Jackson Mboya — Jackson Mboya

Born on 7 March 1999 in Dar es Salaam, at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since 15 January 2006. Jackson successfully completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Institute of Finance and Management at the University of Dar es Salaam in 2023. He is currently completing his Master’s degree.

Emmanuel Dotto — Emmanuel Dotto

born on 21.8.2000 in Dodoma, in the children’s home Tuwapende Watoto since 19.7.2006. He graduated from Baobab High School and is studying “Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance” at the IFM “Institute of Financial Management” in Dar es Salaam since November 2021.

Bahati Tillya — Bahati Tillya

born on 2.11.2001 in Dar es Salaam, in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 25.8.2006. She graduated from Baobab High School. She is studying international relations at the Mozambique Centre for Foreign Relations.

Abdalah Didier Alalfani — Abdalah Didier Alalfani

Born on 3 June 2002 in Dar es Salaam, in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 25 August 2006. Didier completed his A-levels at Baobab High School. He has been studying at the Tanzanian Institute of Accountancy (TIA) since the beginning of October 2022

Martha Mrisho — Martha Mrisho

Martha was born on December 4, 2002 in Dar es Salaam and has been living in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since May 19, 2006. After attending Ghome Secondary School, she completed her training as a kindergarten teacher at the Royal Montessori International College, which she successfully completed in November 2023. Today Martha works as a Montessori kindergarten teacher at Tuwapende Watoto Kindergarten.

Maria Mrisho — Maria Mrisho

born on 4.12.2002 in Dar es Salaam, in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 19.5.2006. Maria attended Ghome Secondary School and is now attending a college specialising in Human Resource Management.

Petro Ayubu — Petro Ayubu

Born on 13.2.2004 in Morogoro, in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 28.3.2007. Petro attended Baobab Secondary School up to grade 4 and is now studying at college Efatha Seminary at Bagamoyo.

Kelvina Tillya — Kelvina Tillya

born on 4.4.2004 in Morogoro, in the children’s home Tuwapende Watoto since 25.3.2007. Kelvina finished the 4th grade at Baobab Secondary School with the National Examination in November 2022. She is now studying at Loyola High School in Dar es Salaam.

Julius Juma — Julius Juma

born on 27.7.2004 in Dar es Salaam, in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 1.6.2008. Julius attended Ghome Secondary School. He completed the two-year ICT course at Tuwapende Watoto Vocational School. Until the start of level 3 of the ICT course, he is completing various internships in the private sector.

Nancy Palangyo — Nancy Palangyo

Nancy was born on September 21, 2004 in Arusha and has been living in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since June 2011. After successfully completing high school at Baobab Secondary School, she began her studies at the Institute of Finance and Management at the University of Dar es Salaam.

Zawadi Tillya — Zawadi Tillya

born on 28.9.2004 in Dar es Salaam, in the children’s home since 28.3.2007. Zawadi finished the 4th grade at Baobab Secondary School with the National Examination in November 2022. She is now studying at Loyola High School in Dar es Salaam.

Gabriel Michael Shayo — Gabriel Michael Shayo

Gabriel was born on 9.4.2007 in Dar es Salaam and has been living in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 15.2.2011. Gabriel attends the 3rd grade QT (Qualifying Test Repeater) at Tuwapende Watoto Secondary School.

Kevin Isangya — Kevin Isangya

Kevin was born on 14.6.2007 in Dar es Salaam and has been living in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 1.3.2012. Kevin successfully completed the 4th grade of Baobab Secondary School with Division 2 and will attend the 5th secondary school class from summer 25.

Vanessa Geofrey Tillya — Vanessa Geofrey Tillya

Vanessa was born on 6.8.2007 in Dar es Salaam and has been living in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 15.2.2011. Vanessa attends 4th grade at QT Tuwapende Watoto Secondary School.

Luqman Abeid Athuman — Luqman Abeid Athuman

born on 9 September 2007 in Tanga, at the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 1 June 2016. Luqman attends form 3 at Baobab Secondary School.

Elizabeth Emmanuel Shayo — Elizabeth Emmanuel Shayo

born on 14 January 2008 in Dar es Salaam, at the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 14 July 2009. Elizabeth is attending form 4 at Baobab Secondary School.

Christopher Isangya — Christopher Isangya

born on 10 October 2008 in Dar es Salaam, at the children’s home since 1 March 2012. Christopher attends the form 3 of Baobab Secondary School.

Peter Tillya — Peter Tillya

born on 12.3.2009 in Dar es Salaam, in the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 15.2.2011. Peter is attending form 3 at Baobab Secondary School.

Aisha Omari Isangya — Aisha Omari Isangya

born on 13 March 2009 in Dar es Salaam, Aisha has been at the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 1 March 2012. Aisha is attending form 4 at Santa Theresa High School in Mapinga.

Baraka Swai Isangya — Baraka Swai Isangya

born on 3 May 2009, at the Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 1 March 2012. Baraka is attending form 2 at Hope and Joy Secondary School.

Nasri Salum Isangya — Nasri Salum Isangya

born on 4.4.2013, at Tuwapende Watoto children’s home since 1.4.2017. Nasri attends the form 6 of Tuwapende Watoto primary school.

Emanuel Victor Shayo — Emanuel Victor Shayo

Ema was born on 27.4.2013. He was taken in by the Tuwapende Watoto family on April 1, 2015 as a one-year-old boy. Ema attends the 6th grade of Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Daniela Jonathan Wimba — Daniela Jonathan Wimba

Daniela was born on 11.12.2013 and spent the last few years in an orphanage in Bunju A. She has been living in the Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since 29 March 2023. She attends the 5th grade of Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Samson Jeremia Kuboja — Samson Jeremia Kuboja

Samson was born on 16.11.2014. He was taken in by the Tuwapende Watoto family as a two and a half year old boy 1.4.2017. Samson attends grade 4 of Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Eveline Mpoki — Eveline Mpoki

Eveline was born on the 10th of July 2015 and spent the first months of her life in the Msimbazi Childrens Home. She lives since December 18, 2018 in Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home. Eveline attends grade 4 at Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Vanessa Mohammed — Vanessa Mohammed

Vanessa was born on 8.12.2015 and spent the first months of her life at Msimbazi Childrens Home. She has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since December 18, 2018. Vanessa attends grade 3 at Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Gloria Swai Isangya — Gloria Swai Isangya

Gloria was born on March 3, 2016. She was taken in by the Tuwapende Watoto family in 10.10.2016 at the age of 8 months. Gloria attends grade 4 at Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Khadija Mustapha Said — Khadija Mustapha Said

Khadija was born on 3/29/2016 and spent the first months of her life at Msimbazi Childrens Home. She has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since July 11, 2019. Khadija attends grade 3 at Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Brighton Gideon Matwiri — Brighton Gideon Matwiri

Brighton was born on 3/22/2016 and spent the first months of his life at Msimbazi Childrens Home. He has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since July 11, 2019. Brighton attends grade 2 at Tuwapende Watoto Primary School.

Hamisi Hamisi Simba — Hamisi Hamisi Simba

Hamisi was born on 1.2.2020 and spent the first months of his life at Msimbazi Childrens Home. He has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since 18.2.2022. Hamisi attends the Tuwapende Watoto Nursery School.

Hadija Hamisi Mbegu — Hadija Hamisi Mbegu

Hadija was born on 1.2.2020 and spent the first months of her life at Msimbazi Childrens Home. She has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since 18.2.2022. Hadija attends the Tuwapende Watoto Nursery School.

Rebeca Jonathan Wimba — Rebeca Jonathan Wimba

Rebeca was born on 21.3.2020 and spent the first months of her life at Mzimbazi Children Home. She has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children Home since March 25, 2023. Rebeca attends the Tuwapende Watoto Nursery School.

Mishi Michael Shayo — Mishi Michael Shayo

Mishi was born on 4/19/2019 and spent the first years of her life in another children’s home. She has been living at Tuwapende Watoto Children’s Home since April 27, 2023. Mishi attends the Tuwapende Watoto Nursery School.
